Mentioned the water cooling,to speak of is the water bolck VG18 presented by Dongyuan,it has come into the market for some days.Rencently,we have got the first profile of this water block with the ATI first top graphics card HD4890 from the official to share with you here,hoping to make you be acquaint with it.

We have had a lot of reports about it.so here we introduce it simply.It fits for the 4800 series graphics card of ATI.pure copper material,parallel waterways inside,low water resistance enhance the heat dissipation,advanced leakproof sealing technology,die-cast for one time,makes it safe when used.The connector is interchangeable,you can change the G1/4 -6 or -8 according to your demand,the pagoda can connect with the inner diameter 8mm pipes.

We choose the HD4890 graphics card AMD single-core ,RV790,the improved RV770 for the test,the advanced 55nm technology and plenty of new technology detonate the huge potential of the RV770 ,and improved the performance ,although AMD themselves don’t think the more heat because of the high frequency and the low power assumption,during the long preiod of the work of the 4890,we find the heat keeps high,so the heat dissipation is a resoveled question.

In consider of the PWM power supply heat dissipation,VG18 adds the power supply module to support the water block.

The water cooling subsidy were heatsink before,this product add the special water cooling heat dissipation equipment to ensure the heat dissipation of the power supply.

Test method:

1.      use the Z weapon、GPU-Z to observe the standby temperature of the original fan.

2.run the software of the FURMARK with the original fan,GPU full load ,and test the temperature

3.install the water cooling products,test the standby temperature.

4.run the FURMARK,test the full load temperature.

The fourth page:the performance of the original fan ,the temperature make people worried

The outdoor temperature is 40,the indoor is 34degrees,let’s first look the performance of the HD4890 original fan ,run Z weapon and GPU-Z to observe the tend of the temperature.

We can find that ,the temperature of the original radiator is 63 degrees when standby,the temperature environment in summer is not a small burdern to the graphics card.

Run the FUMARK,the temperature of the Z-weapon graphics card is up to 108 degrees,GPU-Z is 109 degrees.

When we withdraw the graphics card,the GPU and the power supply is very hot,the 4890 original fan is not very well.After that we installed the Dongyuan VG18 and the power supply PWM water block.

The fifth page:the performance is excellent with the water cooling

Having seen the performance of the original radiator,next,let’s look at the situation of the temperature after installing the VG18 water block

With the water cooling,the temperature dropped sharply to 44 degrees,compared with the original radiator,dropped 24 degrees,the advantage of the water cooling heat dissipation appears.

Run FURMARK,make the GPU full load,the temperature of  both Z-weapon and GPU-Z monitor are 68 degrees.this temperature is only the standby temperature of the original fan,on the whole,it can illustrate the good performance of the VG18 water block.

The sixth page:the excellent cost performance,the civil players’ choice

We can see that from the test the temperature gap of the the original radiator is 41 degrees compared with the VG18,it reflects the performance advantage of the water cooling products.

At present,the price of the water block on the market is 70USD,which is competitive among the water cooling products.although we should see this the work of the water block is not as well as the ones of the  international factories ,as good lost as found,the price is not a bad choice for the players whose pocket is not very full.
